Jose Mourinho is a known admirer of Serbian midfielder Milinkovic-Savic and the Red Devils are expected to launch a bid.

But they face competition to secure a deal by Italian giants Juventus, who are wasting no time getting on with negotiations.

According to Italian newspaper   Juve have made their first offer for the Lazio star man.

It says Juve CEO Beppe Marotta have offered £61m (€70) for , which has not meet Lazio’s valuation for the 23-year-old and added that the figure could even rise to as much as £140m (€160m).

The Rome club have rejected the proposal but know Juve are playing the long game over this transfer.

Tuttosport also linked Real Madrid with Milinkovic-Savic, although Real manager Julen Lopetegui appears to have other targets, with Eden Hazard top of the list.

After a done deal for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred this summer, with Marouane Fellaini set to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires, United are keen to make further additions in the middle.

And Manchester United are supposedly valuing Milinkovic-Savic at around £87.5m (€100m) but Lazio are demanding closer to £105m (€120m).
